Thinking Corner
Magenta is involved with an innovative project called Thinking Corner, which provides schools with thinking skills workshops for both pupils and teachers. The three one-day workshops, which have already taken place in over 150 schools, explore how the brain works, creativity, and self awareness. The Leading in Learning guidelines have focused the attention of Key Stage 3 Learning Co-ordinators and have provided a framework for the development of whole school strategies on thinking skills. The Thinking Corner programme, which can be delivered to pupils in Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, is designed to enable participating teachers to run the programme themselves using the support material. Unlike many other thinking skills schemes Thinking Corner is not subject specific; instead it focuses on simple practical skills and techniques which can be used in a variety of contexts. The modular workshop format can be adapted to meet the specific requirements of individual schools. For more information about Thinking Corner go to www.thinkingcorner.com |
