Farming and Countryside Education (FACE)

FACE was formed in 2000 with a remit to help schools teach about food, farming and the countryside. Magenta’s relationship with FACE began almost immediately and we continue to provide them with project management support on a range of projects for their members.

Together we have developed projects for the Environment Agency, DEFRA, Natural England, The Countryside Foundation for Education, the National Farmers’ Union and Waitrose; you can find more details about these projects by clicking on the client names on the left.

FACE asked us to develop a resource for primary schools looking to make the most of field trips and farm visits. c/o British Farming provides teachers with a variety of practical activities exploring biodiversity in the British countryside. The handy A5 folder is designed to travel in the teacher’s rucksack so it is available for quick reference while they are out and about. As well as offering lots of suggestions for investigations in different landscapes, the folder contains identification charts for many species of flora and fauna.
